Why Feed Raw?

There are numerous studies highlighting the efficacy of raw food diets, commonly known as the BARF diet (an acronym for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food’ and ‘Bones and Raw Food’). This approach advocates feeding dogs and cats the diet they evolved to eat—a raw diet comprising fresh, uncooked meats and greens that are wild. The inception of this concept can be traced back to Dr. Ian Billinghurst.
How do I start?
PUPPIES AND KITTENS
For puppies and kittens, the transition typically begins at 8 weeks old when they start to wean off their mother’s milk and can begin their raw food diet. Regardless of the animal, it’s advisable to offer a mix of proteins. Each protein provides different nutritional values and benefits, and ensuring your pet enjoys their food is paramount. Just imagine eating your favorite food every day for the rest of your life! Let’s make mealtime more enjoyable for them too! Variety is crucial! Choose from chicken, turkey, rabbit, duck, venison, pork, beef, green beef tripe, and ostrich.
CATS – As cats are generally fussier eaters, their meals contain no vegetables but include taurine which is one of the main ingredients that is vital in a cat’s diet. Each cat is different and is dependent on weight and energy output. Generally, they prefer to eat at night and should be fed only once a day.
DOGS – Our dog food contains a mix of bones, muscle meat, fruit, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals for your dog’s optimal health. We calculate appropriate portions based on weight, size, age, and energy levels, adjusting as needed. Dogs typically sleep 16 hours a day but still enjoy 2 meals, increasing to 3 for growing puppies.
